Oh baby, three months already?!
The weeks are flying by, sweet Cora, and we’re convinced you’re the perfect addition to our family. You’re an easy-going, happy girl, and the holiday season is certainly brighter with you in our life.
The biggest change this month was that Mommy went back to work after our blissful (but still busy!) maternity leave. Thankfully Daddy had two weeks left of his leave, so you’ve still enjoyed lots of one-on-one time. I’m really fortunate to work remotely, so although I’m back at it — I’m never too far away from you, little love.
Weight: We don’t return to the pediatrician again til you’re 4 months, but our at-home scale says you’re about 14.5 pounds.
Length: Long and lean!
Eating
Nursing is still going really well, and I’m so grateful for that. You like to eat every two hours during the day, and seem to cluster a bit in the evening to store up for your big night of sleep. (You go girl!) I’m still blessed with an over-supply of milk, but we’re both getting better at handling the flow. Plus, you’ve decided to become a good bottle drinker! I’ve been pumping in the mornings since starting back to work, and you’ve been taking bottles from Daddy in the afternoons. It’s still not your favorite thing, but we’re grateful for your effort. Only three months left til we can introduce solids, too — yay!
Sleeping
This, sweet girl, is one of your most charming skills. For the past few weeks you’ve been sleeping beautifully through the night…and good gracious we’re thankful! Bedtime routine starts at 7 p.m. (you keep us on schedule!), and includes jammies, family prayers, swaddle, white noise, nursing, and lots of kisses. From there you’ll sleep til at least 5 a.m., sometimes even 6. Amazing!
Nap time during the day is a little less routine. In fact, our goal over the next week or two will be to try to get you more on schedule. You’re still taking lots of naps, but they’re difficult to plan around and we often find ourselves having to wake you to pick up Claire or run errands. We’ll get it figured out soon. Schedules make everyone happier 🙂
Playing
When you’re up, you’re active — kicking, punching, sucking on your hands, and trying to talk. We love your precious grunts and coos and get such a thrill out of watching you make new noises. You especially light up for big sister Claire, who cannot wait for you to learn to talk back.

You’re still a big fan of “naked time,” but we’ve also moved on to the activity mat, where you’ll pull on the zoo animals and admire the crinkly leaves. Daddy takes you on the same “Pinot Safaris” that he used to take Claire on, and you certainly enjoy flying around the room like an airplane. We can already tell you’re a curious little lady, and we love that about you!
You’re loving…
your big sister’s voice, sucking your middle two fingers, bath time, bright lights on the Christmas tree, toys, ceiling fans, and Mommy and Daddy 🙂
You’re hating…
getting in and out of the car seat, tummy time, and waiting to eat
Your big sister…
absolutely adores you! She loves to hold you, translate your baby talk, and help put you to bed.The best is yet to come! You two are so fortunate to have each other.
Your third month was a bit chaotic as we celebrated the holidays and adjusted to Mommy’s work schedule, but we can already tell you’re a go-with-the-flow kind of girl…and that’s awesome. Merry first Christmas, Cora Katherine. We adore you!
Kisses and hugs,
Mommy & Daddy
