Happy TWO months, precious Cora!
The past few weeks have been such a joy as your sweet little personality started to really shine through. You’re full of smiles, are mesmerized by your sister, and have been trying to talk. We’re smitten!
The biggest change this month was Daddy’s return to work. For your first six weeks, we enjoyed parental leave bliss — an unexpected addition to Daddy’s benefits that we found out about a week before you were born. Having him home was a dream (and so super helpful!), but starting November 1, Mommy began perfecting the solo two-kids juggle. Thankfully you’re a trouper in the Baby K’tan carrier, which makes Claire’s preschool drop-off/pick-up much simpler. Plus, sometimes you and Mommy will take advantage of the beautiful Davidson College campus and indulge in a fall walk.
Your beautiful blue eyes seem to be sticking around, and your hair is coming back in. While it does have a strawberry tint, it’s also darker than Claire’s was at your age. We can’t wait to see how you continue to change!

Eating
Nursing is still going well. Like clockwork, you eat every two hours during the day, but you’re also pretty willing to drink bottles, so I do have a little flexibility. (THANK YOU!)

Sleeping
Whooo hoo, we’ve turned a corner. In the last week you’ve become a rock star sleeper. We begin your bedtime routine about 7:30 p.m. — jammies, swaddle, then prayers and a story with big sister. Afterwards, you nurse one last time in the dark, and then drift off around 8 p.m. From there, you’ve been sleeping til about 1:30 a.m. (awesome!), and then will sleep again until 5ish. We’re so proud!
During the day you’ve been a good napper, too. Usually you’ll give us a two-hour rest in the morning, and then a few smaller naps in the afternoon. You’re quick to sleep in the car, and still prefer the swing and Rock-n-Play over your crib.
Playing
There are not a lot of playtime options for a two month old, but one of your favorite things is “naked time” — kick, kick, kicking while (you guessed it) naked on a blanket. You’re also an amazing traveler. We took you to Asheville for Nana Kay’s birthday and you were a champ!
You’re Loving…
Naked time, Mommy and Daddy, morning, the birdies on your swing, and the bath.
You’re Hating…
Getting dressed, tummy time, and getting in and out of the car seat.
Your Big Sister…
is settling into her new role with such enthusiasm. She loves helping with diaper changes…fetching pacifiers…and “sharing” stickers.
Your Big Brother…
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention your crazy cat’s latest addiction: pacifiers, bottle nipples, and pump parts. Holy moly! He’s now chewed up SIX pacifiers. We’re going to need to buy stock in silicone!
Your second month was a true joy, Cora Katherine. You have such a sweet disposition and we can’t wait to learn more and more about you. Thank you for being a precious addition to our family.
Loads of love,
Mommy & Daddy
P.S. This was a gift from the wonderful realtor that helped us sell and buy our first and second homes. Look at the lovely description of your name!
