We hosted your first birthday party at our home on July 26th. The theme was “color” — and we had more than 40 of your nearest and dearest in town to celebrate. It was a hot one…but boy, did we have fun!

Daddy made two craft brews for the occasion — a “Ruby” Red (in honor of your hair) and a summery Peach Wheat. We collected letters for your time capsule (which you’ll receive on your 18th!), and we sent everyone home with a gummy bear treat bag — “Claire Bears.”

Nana Kay got a beautiful sheet cake for all the guests, but YOU got an extra special “Smash Cake” covered with your two favorite foods: blueberries and sweet peas. We thought for sure that you’d dive right into the cake — but instead you were fairly dainty…picking each berry and pea off before scooping up the icing.

It was an extra special day filled with extra special memories. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CLAIRE!
