Oh my word — we just wrapped up one of the wildest (but most fun!) weekends we’ve had in a long, long time. Adam and I drove up to Hickory on Friday and had a fabulous evening with Nana Kay…complete with lots of laughter and Italian food. We all turned in early because Saturday was Adam’s BIG DAY!
Yes, he completed ANOTHER half-marathon y’all…and this time he was a mentor for the running team! Nana Kay and I were honored to cheer him on — and we couldn’t have been more proud.
We got home from Hickory just in time to head over to Tim and Jennifer’s house for a Guerry family lake day. We had a blast boating, eating, celebrating birthdays, and showing off the (BIG!) baby bump. We were also incredibly blessed to be the recipients of an extremely generous shower.
Wendy made us this incredible creation…
…while Kelley baked up an extra special Strawberry Poppy Seed Cake! Click here to go over to her blog to see pictures and read her precious words. (Kelley just launched A Dash of Sweet and we feel mighty fortunate to be the recipients of one of her goodies!)
In addition to the yummy food, Baby Eberle received some of the most thoughtful gifts…including some handmade heirlooms (pictures to come soon). What a lucky baby! Thank you, Guerry/Bragg family. We’re SO grateful.
Here’s how we’re doing at Week 32:
Baby’s size: In honor of the upcoming Father’s Day, The Bump website created a Dad-to-Be version of the “How Big is Baby” chart. Rather than fruits, they use “man” terms like cuff link (Week 7) and golf ball (Week 11). This week we’re at a loaf of bread (WOW!?!), averaging 4 pounds and 17 inches.
What’s keeping Baby busy: Baby is head-down (yay!) and measuring right on schedule, according to our latest doctor’s appointment. The next 7 weeks are spent growing and growing!
What’s keeping Mom and Dad busy: We have a few small projects left in the nursery…but otherwise we’re resting up, cleaning up, and waiting. Fewer than 50 days to go (hopefully)!
Cravings: My strawberry desires were satisfied this weekend, thanks to the yummy shower food. Also: water. I’m thirsty ALL the time…and have been keeping my water bottle within reach for weeks.
Struggles: Patience. I’m getting so excited about meeting this little boy or girl that I’m finding myself wishing away time, rather than focusing on resting up and enjoying these last few weeks of relative calm and quiet. I’m still feeling really good — although I simply can’t imagine how 7 more weeks of baby growth will add onto my belly.
Joys: It sounds silly, but we’re taking great pleasure in all of Baby Eberle’s sweet things…folding the precious clothes, browsing the books, and arranging wipes, bottles, and lotions. Adam is especially excited about all the future toys Baby will have — and is working hard at creating voices for the stuffed animal friends. Good times ahead for sure!
Have a wonderful week!

I want to hear Adam practicing those animal noises. Can we get a video of that? Lauren, you are a beautiful pregnant woman. You look fabulous! Adam, those 1/2 marathons sure have made you slim and trim. Keep up the good work…it will help when you are chasing precious baby Eberle! Counting the days….and so happy to welcome this gift from God.
