We’ve had an incredible past few days as Baby turned 30 weeks….and I turned 30 years!
Our celebration started on Wednesday, when we surprised our mommas with their Mother’s Day gift: a visit with us to Lake Norman 3d Imaging, where we got to enjoy about 45 minutes of 3d/4d ultrasounds of sweet Baby Eberle!
We were delighted to discover that our little one has a full head of hair…a dimple or two…a precious button nose…and a TON of personality! Baby was quite busy during the experience — sucking on fingers, waving, and even getting his or her toes up to the mouth. Funny!
We have video of the entire scan — and hopefully Adam can upload some clips to the blog this weekend. In the meantime, here are a few of our favorite images:
The unanimous consensus was that Baby looks just like his or her sweet daddy. What do you think? Here’s newborn Adam:
Our fun continued on Thursday, when our dear friends Shea and Josh visited on their way through to Wilmington. We celebrated my 30th birthday with a maternity shoot at our home and on the banks of Lake Norman. We had such a great time, and we can’t wait to see what Shea captured on camera.
I was simply overwhelmed by the love and generosity from our friends and family. Thank you all for making my special day even more memorable. (And I have to admit — I’m really looking forward to my 30s!!)
Here’s how we’re doing at Week 30…
Baby’s size: About 15 to 16.5 inches and 2.5 to 3.8 pounds!
What’s keeping Baby busy: For the next 10 weeks, Baby’s biggest job is to grow! He or she has doubled in height over the past six weeks…so now it’s time to fill out that long body with sweet little chub.
What’s keeping Mom and Dad busy: Our plain guest room is slowly transforming into a precious nursery! Adam spent the first part of this week installing our window treatments and building the closet dresser. We still have a ways to go on art…and I need a side table and lamp for the glider…and perhaps a rug…but we’re getting closer and closer!
Cravings: Staying consistent with strawberries, avocados, and hard-boiled eggs…but as the heat begins to set in, I’ve been thinking more and more about frozen yogurt. I sense a TCBY trip in our weekend plans…
Struggles: None of note! I’m still using the treadmill each morning and drinking as much water as possible, so I’ve been able to keep swelling down. I’ve been indulging in an occasional afternoon nap…but otherwise I’m still feeling energetic and I can still see my feet! Hallelujah!
Joys: We’ve been on Cloud 9 lately. Between seeing our sweet one on the 3d screen…watching the bump grow…and making major progress in the nursery, Adam and I have hit a point where we’re constantly beaming. This little one will be SO loved!
