One of my new favorite things about Claire is her blur. Thanks to technology, I snap iPhone photos of our red-headed wonder all day long. And 9 times out of 10, they come out blurry.
Sometimes our toys are strewn.
Sometimes our hair is awry.
Sometimes we unroll whole tubes of wax paper while wearing Mommy’s socks.
…or Mommy’s scarf.
And sometimes we want to wear a life jacket in November.
My first instinct used to be to click “delete” and will Claire to stand still and smile. But one of my favorite bloggers recently pointed out that these fast-paced twirling swirling toddler shots are much more honest depictions of the season of life we’re currently living.
I’ve been trying to make a conscious choice not to wish away time…rushing days means rushing years, I’ve read. So in this mighty busy — sometimes mighty frenzied — stage, I’m choosing to embrace the not-so-perfect picture.
Blur on, baby girl. Blur on.

I love your understanding of “the blur.” Life flies by so fast and the blur is just a reminder. Claire…you are one lucky and blessed young gal!

I’m so excited to read this! You are such a talented writer & I love seeing Claire grow up. XOXO!!
